Many families at Queen Alexandra Elementary are on income assistance, living in social housing, or in transitional housing fleeing abuse. Many are unemployed, new immigrants or working in low-paying jobs. They don’t have the money to contribute to a bake sale; they need food themselves. Our goal is to raise $12,000 to help buy food, clothing and other necessities and provide some of the school’s most impoverished children the opportunity to go on school outings.
