The breakfast program at Vancouver Technical Secondary School provides a free, no/low barrier, healthy breakfast for hungry students. The project began after students and staff learned that 25% of the students at Van Tech reported some food insecurity.

Organized and staffed by student groups, an average of 100 breakfasts are served each day to ensure no student starts his or her day hungry.

The school has applied for $22,000 from Adopt-a-School in order to continue this worthwhile program, and to ensure stability and continuity for the neediest teens at Van Tech.
