McGowan Park Elementary School is asking for $5,000 for breakfast food and essential clothing to put smiles on faces of children in need.

Food security, nutritious and balanced breakfasts are critical for physical, mental and emotional health and well-being. Without food children can’t learn.

Twenty or more children are arriving at school wearing the same clothes day after day and many are without proper winter clothing. Some children are sharing coats with siblings so only one child at a time can go out and play.

The Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund is asking readers to support these vulnerable children in Kamloops.
