Children with full bellies have a much greater chance of succeeding in school, but for families with limited financial resources providing a sufficient breakfast to start the day isn’t always possible.
The Kateslem Youth society in Mission provides a breakfast program for 80 students aged from five to 11 years, and is asking for a $10,000 grant from Adopt-a-School to ensure the program’s success.
In addition to nutritious food, the program will also cover the cost of kitchen items such as a toaster, frying pans and a microwave.
